A Bulawayo man lost his vehicle to carjackers during the night of November 7 while he was relieving himself in a bushy area in Pumula suburb.

The carjackers emerged from the bush armed with iron bars and threatened the man who fled from the scene. The carjackers jumped into the vehicle and sped off after which a report was made to the police who are still investigating the case.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and warned motorists against leaving their vehicles unattended with doors unlocked and engines running as this made them vulnerable to robberies. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Bulawayo man was left injured after he was attacked with crow bars, stones and sticks by three men along Bulawayo-Beitbridge road.

The victim was parked and in the driver’s seat after his car broke down. He fled from the scene before his property was stolen from the car. Police are appealing for information leading to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of stolen property.
