Mother sends daughter(11) to steal

A mother and her 11-year-old daughter have appeared in court for allegedly stealing three tins of infant milk formula worth US$23 in a supermarket.
The mother allegedly sent her daughter to steal the milk powder, but fled and abandoned her when the minor was accosted by security guards.
The girl and her mother, of Dzivaresekwa 3 in Harare, appeared before magistrate Mrs Blessing Mirwizi facing theft charges last week.
The complainant is TM Supermarket, represented by its loss control manager Langton Ndagurwa.

Prosecutor Ms Patience Chimusaru alleged that on Febraury 5, the woman went into TM supermarket in the company of her 11-year-old daughter.
She woman placed three 400g tins of Nan 2 infant milk formula in a trolley, handed the bag back to the girl.

The woman was spotted by supermarket officials and was   arrested by the police.
