Preparations for the Miss Zimbabwe-USA 2014 are at advanced stage and the top 12 finalists have been selected. The pageant which is being hosted by Zimexpo will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on May 22.
Some of the finalist, who are all Zimbabwean based in the United States, are Rukudzo Muhomba, Carol Ncube, Chiedza Kunaka, Michelle Nyasambo, Snono Sibanda, Wadzanani Thembani and Thandie Mamutse.

According to information from organisers on the social networks, the list of credentials is impressive.

“Many have completed or are studying for business or medical degrees, one is on her way to become a medical doctor, one has national colours for netball, others have provincial colours for judo, water polo and horse riding while one contestant worked for a while as a professional singer,” organisers posted on Facebook.

Miss Zimbabwe International organisers of the pageant,say they are very happy with the selected finalists.

“We believe we have a very strong top 12, a group of young women who are passionate about competing and who have the intelligence and dedication to be winners.

“The judges had a difficult task choosing the 12 from all semi-finalists who entered, but we are confident that the eventual winner will prove a powerful ambassador for the Miss Zimbabwe-USA brand and do full justice to the brand,” said one of the organiser.

Miss Zimbabwe International has provided a platform for the past 13 years to groom young women to become inspirational role models, in the different countries where their pageants are held.

Some of the previous winners of Miss Zimbabwe-USA are Makho Ndlovu, Sandra Nduna, Farai Moyo, Farai Gundani, Kaya Chipungu, Elizabeth Chitseko, Busi Mlambo,Sibongile Mlambo and Thandekile Mellissa Rhoades.
