Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Christopher Mushohwe has sent his condolences to the Rangwe family following the passing on of Mr Vincent Rangwe, who was the editor of the Midlands Times newspaper yesterday.

In a statement, Dr Mushohwe said it was with a heavy heart that he learnt of the death of Mr Rangwe.

“Mr Rangwe’s passing on is a very big loss to the New Ziana where he had served the news agency with distinction as a seasoned reporter and managing editor of a number of its provincial newspapers,” he said.

“His good professional track record speaks for itself and is traceable at the following provincial newspapers where he served faithfully and exemplary; The Telegraph for Mashonaland West, Ilanga for Matabeleland South, Indonsakusa for Matabeleland North and the Times for Midlands.

“The late Mr Rangwe’s passing on is not only a big loss to New Ziana which has lost a good editor, but the country as a whole which is all the poorer for the loss of a good jour- nalist.

“On behalf of the Deputy Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, the permanent secretary, ministry staff and on my own behalf, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to the Rangwe family, relatives and friends, upon the loss of their beloved father, mentor and breadwinner.”
