KARIBA Municipality is set to partner the Mining Industry and Pension Fund (MIFP) in the construction of a $3,6 million shopping mall.

The development will also see the municipality offices at Nyamhunga Shopping Centre being moved to the new location at a cost of $1,2 million.

Housing and Community Services director Mr Godfrey Magijani welcomed the development saying it would help bring development to the resort town.

“Our vision is to see Kariba turning into an excellent tourist destination. We appreciate when investors come to support our vision,” he said.

“The Mining and Industry Pension Fund is not just an ordinary pension fund, but is one of biggest pension funds that we have, so we appreciate the move as a municipality.”

Consultant to the project, Ruswa Consultancy, represented by Admore Ruswa said the project would bring many benefits to the resort town.
