The zanu-pf leadership in Mashonaland West has said it is ready and committed to continue working harmoniously with the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Cde Webster Shamu, who was reappointed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa last week.

He took his oath of office on Monday. In an interview o`n Tuesday, zanu-pf Mashonaland West provincial youth chairperson Cde Vengi Musengi said youths were prepared to offer Minister Shamu all the support he required.

“We are grateful that Minister Shamu has been reassigned to his former position, we wish him the best. As youths, we will give him all the support he needs to run his race smoothly.” Cde Shamu told delegates to the Rapid Results Initiative Branding launch workshop for the province at Chinhoyi Hotel on Tuesday that he was going to “hit the ground running” following the call by President Mnangagwa for the new ministers to deliver,” he said.

“Our President has said that we have to deliver in the next six to seven months. l have cancelled all my plans for the festive season to concentrate on Government business,” he said.

Minister Shamu said contrary to media reports, they had donated 15 herds of cattle to the President last week and not bulls as reported.

“I want to put the record straight that we donated 15 herds of cattle and not bulls as had been reported earlier on,” he said.

Minister Shamu has always emphasized the need for unity between Government and the ruling party to ensure development in the province.
