A number of activities have been lined up for the festive season with several musicians billed to perform at Legends Sports Diner in Marondera. The celebrations running under the theme “Marondera Festive Season Celebrations” begins tomorrow with Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu sharing stage with dancehall star Shinsoman. On December 11, the same venue will host Sniper Storm before hosting the sungura maestro Alick Macheso together with Faheem Somanje on December 19. Jah Prayzah will perform at the venue on December 26.

Event organiser Daniel Masaiti said he was happy to be hosting the big musicians in the country to bring fun to Marondera and Mashonaland East at large. “We have been hosting these artistes here but what makes our December events special is that people need to celebrate with their families during the festive season. We are hopeful that all shows will go according to the plan,” he said.

Masaiti said they have well prepared their venue for all shows as musicians are set to celebrate the season with their fans. Shinsoman who is riding high with his album “Best of both Worlds” is expected to thrill fans as he ushers songs from the project.

The musician has several songs that brought him to fame. “Mawayawaya”, “Mama Devante” “Hanzi Ndakupenga”, “Zvidhakwa”, “Magetho Youths”, and “Magetsi” are some of the songs that stole the hearts of many music lovers. On the other hand Suluman’s “Gunship” has stood the test of time according to music pundits and is expected to thrill fans.

The musician has promised to unveil new songs on the show. His publicist Joe Nyamungoma promised fireworks saying they were honoured to be the first musicians to perform at the venue’s festive season programme.

“We have performed there before and the response has been overwhelming. I am happy that we are going there at a time when we are working on a new album,” he said.
