Man sodomises boy (7)

A Harare man, who sodomised a seven-year-old boy, yesterday appeared before magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe facing charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile.

The prosecutor Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa told the court that sometime between January and August during school days, Talent Muchemwa (20), took the complainant when he was coming from school to a chicken run and forcibly removed the minor’s trousers and pants.

Muchemwa went on to force the complainant to the ground lying on his stomach before having anal sexual intercourse with him.

The court heard that when the complainant cried because of the pain Muchemwa threatened to cut his neck off if he revealed the matter to anyone.

It is alleged that Muchemwa continued to sexually assault the juvenile from that day up to a unknown date this August.

The court heard that on August 13, when the complainant wanted to bath, a relative noticed haemorrhoids on his private parts and informed the complainant’s grandmother about it.

The juvenile revealed the matter to his grandmother who reported to police.

Muchemwa was remanded to August 30.

In a similar case, another Harare man appeared before magistrate Mr Mahwe facing charges of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old man.

Obert Kandenga (33) sodomised the complainant (name withheld) and when confronted, in his defence he told him that he was drunk and had mistaken him for his girlfriend.

On August 13, the complainant came from seeing his friends at around 9pm and found his brother whom he shares his room with already asleep and opted to sleep in Kandenga’s room.

He slept between Kandenga and another man whose name has been withheld.

At around 11pm, the complainant was awoken by the other man whom they were sharing the bed with and advised to sleep properly, and that is when he realised that he was almost naked and Kandenge was still in the process of sexually assaulting him.

When confronted, Kandenga in his defence said that he was drunk and had mistaken the complainant for his girlfriend.

Mr Mahwe remanded the matter to August 30.
