ONE of Zimbabwe’s finest soccer exports, Cuthbert Malajila, has returned to his roots to hand over brand new sports kits to his former school in the City of Kadoma.

Malajila, a director of the CUMA Football Academy which he co-owns with associate Hubert Manyowa, has always found time to plough back to the community that groomed him.

The Mamelodi Sundowns striker donated the football kits to Mupamombe Primary School and pledged to continue developing sport at the school. Addressing school authorities and pupils, Malajila, who played for two of Zimbabwe’s biggest clubs Dynamos and Highlanders and the national team, said the donation was only the beginning.

“I am donating these three sets of kits to you and this is only the beginning of more to come,” he said. “l started playing football here at Mupamombe, so I thought of giving back to where it all started. I challenge you to go beyond what I achieved.”

Mupamombe Primary School head, Mr Daero Jairos, pledged to utilise the donations wisely.
