Kadoma in $1m road rehab project

Kadoma City Council has embarked on a $1 million road rehabilitation exercise expected to take three months.
The road works started last week, with the city centre being the first priority.
Upon completion, the company will then rehabilitate other roads including Sanyati, Eiffel Flats, Mutarimanja, Marandu, Westview, Ngezi and Banda roads.
In an interview, mayor councillor Muchineripi Chinyanganya said the road rehabilitation exercise would take about three months to complete.
“We contracted a company by the name Exodus,” he said.
“It is supposed to finish the road rehabilitation exercise by October 31.”
The company has since completed patching potholes in major roads in the city centre including Cameroon square.
The $1,02 million availed to Kadoma by Government is part of the over $9 million channelled to Mashonaland West province as a whole under the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP).
The funds are part of Zinara’s $232 million allocated for road maintenance and rehabilitation projects countrywide.
