Contemporary musician Jah Prayzah and dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love are set to headline the Zim Afro and Sleek Hair Show tomorrow at the Harare International Conference Centre. The two artistes will be performing alongside a number of musicians at a show which seeks to crown the best afro and sleekest hairdresser in the country.

In an interview, show organiser Kudakwashe Mupawose said the show is meant to bring awareness to the hair industry.

“We decided to come up with the Zim Afro and Sleek Hair Show with the aim of developing the hair industry by raising awareness to those who are in the industry,” she said.

Commenting on the choice of artistes to perform at the event Mupawose said they had decided to choose Jah Prayzah and Soul Jah Love since both of the artistes keep their hair. “It is a hair show, so the show is mainly concerned with the hair rather than performances.

“If you look at Jah Prayzah and Soul Jah Love they both have dreadlocks, so we are going to take the opportunity to do their hair and we also want to show people that their hair can be styled also,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jah Prayzah, who has just released his six-track “Kumbumura Mhute’ DVD promises the best of show ever and encouraged people to come in their numbers to witness his performance as he is basking in the success of the release of the DVD.

“You know when one has just released a new project, the morale is always high especially when the project has been well received.

“As the Third Generation, we are excited such that we are promising nothing but fireworks come Saturday and fans should come in their numbers,” he said.
