Contemporary reggae musician Jah Prayzah donated groceries to Karoi Children’s Home on Monday. The groceries were handed over to one of the administrators of the Children’s Home Allister Kandengwa by the musician’s manageress Filda Muchabaiwa.
They donated food stuff including sugar, cooking oil, maize, candles, rice, salt, buckets, clothes and flour.

Kandengwa thanked the musician for his extended hand saying he is one of the few individuals who have managed to think about the needy out there.

“He is one of the individuals who have managed to remember us and this is something that we have to thank him for,” he said.

Muchabaiwa said they realised the needs of the children’s home after they had a show in Karoi recently.

“Jah Prayzah is from Uzumba and people may ask why we chose Karoi. We staged a show there recently and that’s how we knew about their plight,” she said.

“We are taking the initiative to a number of charity organisations because we need to share the little that we have with those who are in need.”

Muchabaiwa urged other artistes to support these charity organisations for a good cause.

Meanwhile Jah Prayzah will be celebrating his 27th birthday on Friday at Big Apple in the capital.

Jive Zimbabwe boss Benjamin Nyandoro who is organising the show said the band will play for free on the day and gate takings will go direct to the musician’s pockets.

“We have agreed with the management and the entire band that they will not get anything from the show because all the money from gate takings will be taken by Jah Prayzah,” he said.

He added that they will be unveiling the documentary of the musician on that day.

“A documentary will be released that day showing the life of the musician since his childhood to date,” he said.

Jah Prayzah was born Mukudzei Mukombe on July 4, 1987 in Uzumba where his parents reside.

Apart from music, Jah Prayzah has also had cameo roles in a number of local dramas.

He has more than four albums to his name — “Rudo Nerunyararo” (2007), “Sungano Yerudo” (2010),  “Ngwarira Kuparara” (2012), “Tsviriyo” and “Kumbumura Mhute” (2014) which is receiving fair reviews and airtime on the stations.
