Hlanganani fair exhibitors on familiarisation tour of Vic Falls

They are here ahead of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority-organised expo in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry which starts tomorrow at the Exhibition Park in Harare.
According to ZTA officials here, the exhibitors and buyers started arriving in the resort town on Monday to experience first hand the products that the country offers.

In town yesterday were over 50 buyers and exhibitors from the United Kingdom, Germany, Middle East (Dubai and Saudi Arabia) and China.
Some of the buyers arrived at the Victoria Falls International Airport around 12.15pm yesterday and were picked up by the ZTA crew.

The Chronicle caught up with the Chinese delegation at the Victoria Falls Rainforest where they had gone to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Some of the buyers went for a flight of angels above the rainforest while others were interested in some of the adventures on offer in the town.
However buyers said they were happy to be here and would market the country.

The expo will be running under the theme, “Green Tourism Anchoring Economic Growth”.
ZTA is expecting participants from Russia, Malaysia, Iran, United States of America and Indonesia.

Participants are also expected from South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Seychelles and Sudan.
China will be Zimbabwe’s partnering country at the tourism fair as a result of the Look East Policy adopted by the Government a few years ago.
More than 500 exhibitors and 300 buyers are expected to take part in the expo.

Last year, there were 19 foreign exhibitors and this year ZTA is expecting about 25 international exhibitors.
In 2009, there were 497 exhibitors and 234 buyers that participated in the expo.
