CAPITALK, Harare’s premier talk radio station, will today donate an array of goods to Matapi Flats fire victims in Mbare.

The station manager Mr Napoleon Nyanhi yesterday said they were touched by the plight of the families displaced by the fire and felt the need to assist.

“As the station for Harare, we are constantly following events in the city and talking about them and when the fire broke out at Mbare Matapi Flats, both our staff and listeners felt for the families that had been displaced and affected.

“Immediately our staff WhatsApp group was ablaze with suggestions of how the radio station could                                            assist.

“We then approached the City Of Harare to assist us as the implementing partner to ensure that we do not flout any council rules and to benefit from their vast experience in such initiatives,” he said.

CapiTalk has been broadcasting adverts appealing and mobilising donations for the families currently staying in temporary shelter in  Mbare.

He added that mobilisation of the donation ended yesterday evening.

Donations were being delivered to CapiTalk FM at No.  1 Yardley Road, Chisipite, Harare, and these were being handed over to the City of Harare for distribution to the affected families.
