LONDON — Arsenal are preparing for a mass clear-out at the Emirates with SIX players ready to be shown the exit door, according to reports. Lukas Podolski, Mathieu Flamini, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson, Joel Campbell, and Yaya Sanogo are all considered to be surplus to requirements, according to The Sun.

And Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will not stand in their way as he prepares for his title challenge this season.

Podolski is set to be the first to leave with a £1.5million move to Turkish champions Galatasaray on the cards.

He has agreed to join Galatasaray on a three-year contract.

The striker will join the Turkish side in a deal that will net Arsenal a total of £2.85m, according to German paper Bild.

World Cup winner Podolski (30) is said to have been attracted to Galatasaray by their continued pursuit for his signature and with Champions League football on offer.

Podolski joined Arsenal from FC Koln in 2012 and scored 16 goals in his maiden season at the Emirates.

But he struggled for action last season and was shipped out on loan to Inter Milan for the second half of the season.

However, the Italian adventure turned sour with Podolski finding the net just once in 18 appearances.

His agent Nassim Touihri has insisted that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger pleaded with the German to stay.

Touihri told Bild: “We had very good talks with Wenger. He wanted to keep Lukas, but couldn’t give him a guarantee that he will be starter. That’s why we agreed on a transfer.”

While Ospina is considering a move to Besiktas after the Super Lig side offered £4m for the Colombia international. Strikers Sanogo and Campbell could leave for a cut-price fee, however, Wenger is reluctant to let Jenkinson go on a permanent deal. — The Daily Express
