Zanu PF Mashonaland Central chairperson Cde Kazembe Kazembe has commended the corporate world for their support towards the party’s annual people’s conference to be held in Bindura this month.

This followed a donation by the Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) of groceries worth US$60 000.

The consignment consisted of 15 tonnes of mealie-meal and three tonnes of rice while 4 000 bread will be supplied during the conference due to its perishability.

Cde Kazembe commended the gesture saying it shows appreciation to the Government for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and the empowerment programmes.

“This is a testimony that our millers are well in this country and found it fit to support the people’s annual conference. I don’t have enough words to thank you for the support,” said Cde Kazembe.

“There are some people making money out of the good leadership and policies of our President but they don’t remember to give back to the community. GMAZ is always there to support the Government and we thank you for that.”

Cde Kazembe said all was now in place and preparations are at an advanced stage for the conference.

About 245 delegates are expected at the main centre at Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE)  campus while 250 members will converge at the second venue, Chipadze Secondary School.

“The days are getting closer and we are excited that 150 megabites per second at the main centre and Chipadze venue have been secured. We also have a fiber link between the main venue and main backbone,” he said.

“We are on course for a successful virtual conference. A lot of activities are lined up including tree planting and entertainment. We are excited by the mood in the corporate world who are coming on board to support the party.

“This clearly shows that Zanu-PF is a party for the people and everyone wants to be part of it and play a role. We are overwhelmed with calls from the corporate world asking what they can do to assist the conference.

“This is evidence that Zimbabwe is open for business and the environment is conducive for business. We thank the President for this environment which makes it easy to prepare for the conference.

Cde Tafadzwa Musarara, who is the chairperson of the district coordinating committee (DCC) in Mazowe and also a member of the Zanu PF fund raising committee said it has become a tradition that his organisation support the Zanu PF annual people’s conferences as beneficiaries to the party’s empowerment programmes.

“Delegates who will attend the conference need to be fed by none other than us,” he said.

“We will continue to support the party. Anywhere in the world, businesses support their Government and we are not ashamed to support Zanu PF.”
