MANCHESTER. — Ryan Giggs leaves Manchester United as the club’s most decorated player ever and judging by the reactions of Red Devils players, he will be sorely missed at Old Trafford. Giggs announced on Saturday he will be leaving United after 29 years at the club in order to pursue his managerial ambitions elsewhere. The 42-year-old made an indelible mark on United’s history with 963 first-team appearances in all competitions after his debut in 1991 before becoming the club’s assistant manager.

United’s players — both past and present – took to social media to pay tribute to Giggs.

Michael Carrick tweeted: “Gonna miss this fella. All great things come to an end I suppose. He’s gonna make a top manager. Good luck mate.” — Sky Sports.
