External exams and for some schools internal exams are done and dusted. This then means prom time. Are you ready for some glam?
Anyway the awards season continues as on Monday, our favourite bald man Pitbull hosts the American Music Awards.According to those in the industry, they say that this is the most swaglish awards compared to others. Let’s wait and see. Good, for now you can enjoy watching them as the reading stress is over. Last week, on social media there was a video post of two boys fighting for a girl. CLS advices you that it is so GWASH and you should not find time for petty issues when big things are happening in town.

Well, it is time to check on the latest Yeah or Nay of the week. Don’t worry I won’t forget to give guidelines on prom night because yours truly will be doing some fashion policing.

Movie of the week

Mocking Jay – “The Hunger Games” is premièring worldwide and hope you make your way to the box office to watch it. I am not a fan of hunger games but for this one thumbs up to the director.

Tie Me Magically

To be honest, I never really cared if we ever get the self-lacing shoes Marty McFly rocked in “Back to the Future” (even though Nike promised it for next year) – I always considered the feature a novelty, at best. Seeing these Power-lace auto-lacing sneakers, however, made me want to change my mind. The whole thing just seems so convenient.

Rather than require batteries like we always imagined self-lacing footwear will do, this one relies on a clever mechanical system of levers, cables, and the weight of your own feet, instead. That means, no electronic components to ever mess with, so there’s nothing to damage if the shoes get wet and no batteries to replace on a periodic basis. As soon as you put your feet into the Powerlace, the system will slowly tighten the laces all on its own, so there’s no need to push a button or, god forbid, launch a smartphone app to trigger the darn thing.

A small lever on the back of the shoe lets you easily adjust the tension of the laces, in case the automatic setting feels too tight or too loose, apart from allowing you to unlace everything with a single pull in order to take the kicks off. The laces are rated for up to 200 000 lacings. Get yours this Christmas and we start some fun action.

Prom/leaver’s party guidelines

Let’s just call it Prom. Prom night can be one of the most wonderful times in a high school student’s life; it can also be one of most stressful . . . for everyone involved. For a teen girl, the prom dress is as important as her future wedding dress (even more than that).

The dress is meant to give her instant recognition, oohs and aahss. The prom dress is not an accessory; it’s a lifeline.

Selecting the dress would take almost an entire year for girls who want to have it just perfect.

Most of the time, girls fail to realise that the simplest of dresses are often responsible for giving the most sensual looks.
