Four envoys present credentials to President

in Harare yesterday. First to be accredited was incoming Zambian ambassador Ms Ndiyoyi Muliwana Mutiti.
She pledged to enhance the already cordial relations between Harare and Lusaka.
“Zambia and Zimbabwe ties are excellent and close. We share a long history. Our people have been living and working together for many years. My role is to ensure that the cordial relations are further enhanced,” Ambassador Mutiti said.
She said she will take trade, social and political relations to another level.
“These are the areas we should expand,” Ambassador Mutiti said.
Sierra Leone’s new envoy Mr Andrew Gbebay Bangali seeks to develop co-operation in mining with Zimbabwe.
Both Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone have large deposits of diamonds and gold.
Sierra Leone also recently discovered oil.
“We want to develop co-operation in areas of mining. We discovered gold and we have diamonds,” Ambassador Bangali said.
Incoming Israeli ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Dan Shachan-Ben Hayun pledged co-operation in agriculture and tourism.
“Following discussions with the President, agriculture would be on the agenda between the two countries,” he said.
Israel specialises in the drip irrigation system.
Ambassador Ben Hayun invited Zimbabweans to Israel to experience its tourism.
“People here should come and visit Israel. It is a blossoming economy and is as good as Zimbabwe,” he said.
New Irish ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Brendan McMahon described the European Union sanctions on Zimbabwe as a small issue.
“The sanctions are a very small thing and marginal. They would not affect trade (between Zimbabwe and Ireland). Let us do business,” he said.
