Zanu-PF Harare provincial chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa has commended the First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe for leading the campaign to rid the party of counter-revolutionary elements led by Vice President Joice Mujuru.Cde Masimirembwa said this while welcoming delegates to the on-going 6th Zanu-PF National People’s Congress in Harare yesterday.

He also congratulated the First Lady on her nomination to the Women’s League as Secretary for Women’s Affairs.

“Harare province unreservedly supports your nomination for the position of secretary for Women’s Affairs. We further salute you for spearheading the restorative winds sweeping across the party, plucking from our midst counter-revolutionary elements headed by Vice President Joice Mujuru with Cdes Ray Kaukonde, Nicholas Goche and Didymus Mutasa in tow, who are bent on reversing the gains of the struggle for independence through unlawful attempts to remove His Excellency (President Mugabe) from office and or assassinate him, and fanning factionalism and division within the party,” he said.

Cde Masimirembwa said the restorative winds in the party would assist in the implementation of Government’s economic blueprint, the Zim-Asset.

“The restorative winds will refocus party members’ energies to the accelerated implementation of Zim-Asset. This will ensure that Government ministers, civil servants and party members in general focus on the implementation of Zim-Asset,” he said.

“For Harare, that focus will result in the revival and re-energising of industry and commerce resulting in the creation of opportunities to start new businesses, creation of more jobs thus in the process producing a satisfied electorate,” Cde Masimirembwa said.

The Harare provincial chairman also commended President Mugabe for leading Zanu-PF to a resounding electoral victory in last year’s harmonised elections and his recent appointment as Sadc chairperson.

“We congratulate you Your Excellency on your recent appointment as Chairman of Sadc. This is testimony to your pan-Africanism and your impeccable credentials as a statesman. We know that the entire progressive world venerates your vision for Africa and the oppressed people of the world,” Cde Masimirembwa said.
