LAGRANDY Electrical Industries (Pvt) Ltd has withdrawn perjury charges against three man who allegedly falsified in an affidavit, which was submitted to the High Court that the land in Pomona, Harare, was donated by their family member and was supposed to be a recreational park.

The accused persons are Craig Joseph Guthrie, Kenneth Peter Moores and Graham Clark.

Lagrandy Electrical Industries director Mr Alex Elias Mashamanda tendered a withdrawal affidavit to Harare magistrate Mr Shane Kubonera, who withdrew the matter.

“The complainant wished to have the criminal charges against the accused withdrawn before plea and this withdrawal is being made in bona fide without any undue influence or duress,” reads Mr Mashamanda’s affidavit of withdrawal.

He said he had decided to withdraw the charges since both parties now have common ground and the accused have since apologised for having acted out of being misinformed of the correct position.

The court heard that on June 16 and at the Bulawayo High Court, the accused persons acted in connivance and filled a founding affidavit HC 978/21 with a false statement.
