Zimbabwe will incorporate devolution and provincial profiling strategies to enhance the marketing and publicity stance which is targeting the world market and other opportunities at the Expo 2020 Dubai, an official has said.

Zimbabwe’s architect and design, together with private sector involvement, is also set to boost the number of visitors who will be frequenting the Zimbabwean pavilion during the exhibition.

Speaking on the side-lines of a workshop in Kadoma last week, Zimbabwe’s Commissioner-General for Expo 2020 Dubai, Ambassador Mary Mubi, said the country was going to work with the private sector, Government Ministries and other sectors to explore comparative advantages availed to Zimbabwe.

“As we work towards vision 2030, the best way to augment our participation at Expo 2020 Dubai is to work with the private sector, Government ministries and various sectors so that we do it in a holistic way, but also showcasing our history and that which gives us the comparative advantage in many areas,” she said.

“People who are going to come to Dubai 2020 have a visitor profile and they have identified that there are going to be people from the region, India and China and the types of products they are looking for.

“We need to be able to identify the deliverables, we will capitalise on projects and present the vast opportunities in Zimbabwe.”

An Institute of Architects of Zimbabwe official Mr Emmiel Murwira said the architect and design would boost the number of visitors at the pavilion.

“The dynamic layout of the heritage design will allow visitors to the pavilion to have a self-identifying welcome to Zimbabwe, meander through curved aisle inspired by the Great Zimbabwe architecture of chevrons,” he said.

“The pavilion will showcase products from all sectors of Zimbabwe in electronic and physical format.”
