Afro jazz sensation Duduzile “Dudu” Manhenga who has been keeping a low profile since being imprisoned last year is working on a video for her gospel track “Mahala”. Dudu’s manager Ndumiso Ndlovu said the video will be released next month.“I am happy to say Dudu has got fresh things for this year after having gone through rough time late last year.

“She is currently working on a musical video for the song ‘Mahala’ off her current album ‘For You’ that will be released mid February,” said Ndlovu.

Ndlovu added that this year Dudu will be having more collaborations with other artistes.

“Dudu is planning to work more on collaborations with other musicians. She wants to expand her fans base this year,” he said.

Ndlovu assured Dudu’s fans that she will not mainly dwell on gospel tracks alone but will continue with her traditional music genre.

“Her fans should never worry because Dudu will continue with her social commentary songs. She will be mixing the two and nothing will be contradicting with her Christian principles,” he said.

Apart from music the song writer is focusing on finishing her theological course as she will become a pastor at her church.

“She is also focusing  much on her studies.

“She wants to become a pastor at her Jubilee Christian Centre of Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe church and  is in her second year at a local theological school,” he said.

Currently Dudu and her husband Blessing Muparutsa are serving as deacons at their church. In October last year, Dudu was convicted of culpable homicide after she hit and killed a cyclist while driving with a learner driver’s license without a supervisor.

She was sentenced to 18 months in prison served two weeks in prison before being released on bail after she appealed against the sentence.

The songstress fronts the band Colour Blu and has released four albums up to date.

She was appointed to the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe board and is also Red Cross Zimbabwe Ambassador and the brand ambassador for Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG).

In 2012, the songstress won an award from The Diplomat magazine where she came second runner-up in the Non-diplomat Contribution to Diplomacy category.
