NEW YORK. — Diddy and Cassie confirmed their reunion as they posed together at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City on Sunday. The couple — who have been in an on-off relationship since 2007 — looked happier than ever as they watched the show at Madison Square Garden, despite splitting up earlier this month after an explosive row, which sparked a visit from police.Arriving separately on the red carpet at the star-studded event before taking their seats together, the tumultuous pair certainly dressed to impress for the occasion.

Diddy, 46, in particular seemed to be lapping up the attention, pulling a variety of poses, no doubt thrilled to be presenting the first award of the night.

Drake missed out on picking up his MTV VMA gong for Best Hip Hop Video after getting ‘stuck in traffic’, meaning presenter Diddy, who famously feuded with the star in the past, took it home.

After announcing the Canadian I’m Goin In warbler had won the prestigious paperweight, the artiste formerly known as Puff Daddy told the audience his old foe was ‘stuck in traffic.’

The star, real name Sean Combs, certainly looked dressed to impress in an all-black ensemble of a kimono-style jacket, T-shirt, trousers and velvet shoes; he rounded off his look with a generous array of golden medallions.

Cassie, 29, looked even better after opting to go braless and wear an unbuttoned blazer, completing her fashion mode with metallic trousers and yellow hair.

Diddy and Cassie had an explosive shake-up earlier this month during which police were called and a domestic incident report was made.

But they have since made up. with Diddy posting gushing social media messages celebrating her 30th birthday on Friday, while the couple celebrated together later that night.

The pair — who have been seeing one another off and on since 2007 — reportedly started arguing in a car in Beverly Hills on the afternoon of August 17 after Cassie said she wanted to break off their romance.

According to TMZ, the rapper grabbed Cassie’s phone and start scrolling through it as they were driving home, and once they stopped, he jumped out of the vehicle with the phone and she went away with the driver.

He is said to have eventually returned to their shared Los Angeles house and took two cars parked outside.

Meanwhile, Cassie had told her mother what had happened before her lover got back to their house, and her parent called police.

Officers visited the residence but left when she explained she had got the phone back, though they still wrote up a domestic incident report.

This isn’t the first time the couple have split as Cassie appeared to have dumped the hitmaker, who has five children from past relationships, in December amid reports he had been ‘pictured with a woman at a number of events’.

At the time, she made an Instagram post which has since been deleted which read: “How I sleep knowing that I’m single and no one is cheating on me.”

The duo were then pictured again together, looking seemingly happy throughout the year, with both taking to Instagram to post snaps together.

Diddy previously admitted Cassie had ‘some questions’ after he was spotted chatting to his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez at the 2015 American Music Awards last November.

But he insisted that they were simply having a friendly catch up and the “On the Floor” hitmaker’s boyfriend Casper Smart was also present.

He said: “My woman at the end of the day, you know, she ain’t have a problem with it. She had some questions. She had some questions.

“But nah, nah, you know, Casper was there. Me and Jennifer . . . people gonna be friends, man.

“People gonna grow, and, you know, any of my exes, they smile, and they’re happy to see me, you know what I’m saying? And that’s all that was about. And, you know, I answered the question.”

Diddy and Jennifer, 46, dated from 1999 to 2001 and she has claimed that their split was due to his infidelity. — TMZ
