City Sports Bar has changed the notion that Monday evenings are laid back in terms of leisure.

The weekly Jam Session event continues to make City Sports Bar a joint of choice every Monday evening as music fans gather for a merrymaking session.

Tonight is another night for such merrymaking.

Several musicians will take to the stage with spotlight on Mbeu and Simba the Lion. The two young musicians are pushing their new projects namely “Hatizvimire” and “Hossana”.

Other musicians that will take part at tonight’s Jam Session are Andy Muridzo, Extra Large, Gonyeti, Talking Guitars and Tambaoga among others.

Organisers of the event said the event has achieved their mission of bringing together people and musicians for Monday merrymaking.

“Things have been going on well since we started Jam Session. Many musicians have performed at the place and they always have perfect time with their fans. Some of them rarely get chances to perform on big stages and this event was made for them,” said one of the organisers.

“We have hosted forgotten musicians and upcoming stars to come and introduce themselves. It is a popular programme and every Monday we have so many people that come to support the musicians. It is such a good platform for many musicians and they take time to network and share notes.”

For Simba the Lion, it will be a second session to launch his latest album “Hossana” that was launched last week.

The musician is on cloud nine after the successful launch of the album.

“The album has been received well and we are taking it to the people once again. The launch was fantastic and our fans are enjoying our songs. Performing at Jam Session will give us time to interact with our fans,” said Simba the Lion. The musician is not new to showbiz, having worked with Andy Muridzo as his manager.

After a few years of managing Muridzo, Simba the Lion decided to try his voice on the microphone and he has kept a good relationship with the former. Muridzo attended the album launch and today he will be part of the Jam Session.

Many musicians that are performing tonight have been part of Jam Session before and they are confident of making a mark during the merrymaking night.
