HARARE City have signed Kudakwashe Kumwala from high-flying Eastern Region Division One side Hartley FC ahead of their Premiership clash against CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

Kumwala appears to be coming in as a direct replacement for Tino Kadewere who is on trials in Sweden.

Kadewere is also set for trials in France where he will spend two weeks with Sochaux.

The Sunshine Boys have already moved in to replace him by hiring Kumwala.

The striker tried his luck at CAPS United earlier this year but coach Mark Harrison felt that he wasn’t good enough.

Kumwala has been the driving force behind Hartley.

They are leading the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One side, with 12 goals in 14 matches.

“I am happy to be at Harare City; it is a stable team and I look forward to proving myself here if given the chance.

“It is every player’s wish to play for a big club and in the Premiership.

“I now look forward to making an impact and making sure that I add value to the team. The confidence they showed in me is good and I need to pay back to them,” Kumwala said.

Interestingly, his first game might be against the Green Machine.

“I will not be playing to prove anything to anyone but I will just play my normal game if given the chance,” said Kumwala.

Harare City assistant coach Mike Madzivanyika said they were ready for a showdown against the Green Machine.

“We are looking forward to a good game, CAPS United are a good side but we will give them a good run.

“The team will miss the services of Talent Chawapihwa (groin), Munyaradzi Diro-Nyenye and James Jam (suspension),” said Madzivanyika.
