ZIMBABWEAN bodybuilders Isaac “Sugar” Chimuchenga and Regina Jonga are expected to continue their dominance in the Mr and Ms Botswana body-building championship set for November 21 in Gaborone.

Zimbabwe, through their good relationship with Botswana, have accepted an invitation to have representatives in that country’s biggest body-building contest.

The event, which was last held in 2013, will make a come-back on Botswana body-building radar with Chimuchenga being the defending champion.

Zimbabwe National Body-building and Fitness Association spokesperson, Quiet Shangai, has confirmed that they will be sending several athletes for this year’s Mr and Ms Botswana contest.

“We will be sending a strong team to take part in the Mr and Ms Botswana next week as we continue to establish our good relations with the neighbouring country.

“We will be celebrating the growth of fitness industry and Botswana as our friends and they managed to accommodate our sons Last Sithole and Champion Chienderamwano who are key players in the country,” said Shangai.

The team for Botswana will include Mr Zimbabwe middleweight champion Chimuchenga and Ndumiso Dhlodhlo, the 2015 Mr Zimbabwe light-heavyweight champion.

Michael Shonhiwa, the Mr Zimbabwe Junior Under-23 champion, as well as Ms Zimbabwe Jonga, who has been dominating most events, will also feature in the Gaborone contest.

Sugar will, however, have to contend with Botswana’s Gontse Sechele, who is the reigning Mr Ironman, Steve Obasteng and Temo O Sledge. South Africa will bring in Juan Franco who shares the same trainer with legendary Vusimuzi Njisane.

Another Zimbabwean Upenyu “Big Life” Mahlaulo, who was the 2004 Ironman first runner-up, will take part in the contest as well.
