AFTER years of silence Chigutiro record stable has bounced back under new management. Lovemore Chataika is now taking charge of the label with the help of Shayne Ndngz based in London and South African-based Bloodshow Chikosi formerly of 2BG. To mark its return Chigutiro has released a new compilation entitled “The Sounds of Chigutiro” which was released in July this year and features Nox Guni, Diana Samkange, Jezebel, Honey Vibes and Blush among others.

“Chigutiro Recording Studio is back in full swing with new artistes to join, new producers though most of them are based in London, South Africa and Malawi, but with the same vision in the industry.

“We are trying to broaden our horizons outside the country managing artistes and mainly trying to promote corporate branding and promotions,” said Chataika.

So far the stable has new artistes like Pamhidzai Tracy Mbirimi aka “Pah Chihera” and Nikki Magunda an upcoming afro-pop artiste who is worth keeping an eye on with his hit “Nomatter What”.

He also recorded “Ndiye Ega” featuring Nox, Maiwe and Shinsoman. Having made successful urban grooves compilations between 2005 and 2008, the Chigutiro family suffered a setback when their recording equipment was stolen at Strathaven Shopping Centre.

Chigutiro then relocated to South Africa where their main producer Siphosenkosi Mukhuhlani aka TBA Playboy was later killed in an accident.
Most of their artistes left to join other stables.
