beauty pageant held in China over the weekend.
Twenty-year-old Lisa was crowned Miss Ambassador of Beauty 2011 and Miss Expressive in a tightly contested beauty pageant in Chengdu, where more than 50 contestants took part.

She was awarded the Miss Ambassador of Beauty for her social contribution as a humanitarian ambassador, while the Miss Expressive title was in recognition of her ability to fully express herself and articulating the aspirations and wishes of the Zimbabwean people.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority corporate communications, events and protocol manager Sugar Chagonda said ZTA was elated by Lisa and Malaika Mushandu’s achievements.
“As ZTA we are happy that the two have managed to raise the bar. The two were indeed equal to their task and the duo’s achievements are an indication that as ZTA we did our homework well and we were able to groom our models to meet international standards,” he said.

Chagonda added that he was not surprised that Lisa managed to clinch the two accolades because she had been consistent in her modelling career.
Lisa once defined a true model as: “Someone with beauty and brains and able to hold the country in the palms of their hands.”

When she was voted Miss Universe Zimbabwe in February this year, she immediately committed herself to working towards various projects and one of them was the kidney awareness campaign she undertook with help from the ZTA and the Rainbow Tourism Group.

In September this year, the vivacious model raised at least US$10 000 during a fund-raising dinner in Harare.
The money was meant to assist two boys who wanted to undergo kidney treatment – Jonathan Jones and Dalubuhle Moyo.
