United Kingdom-based global professional accounting body, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) says it will continue partnering the Premier Business School (PBS), which is helping it to carry out its mandate in Zimbabwe and Africa.

Speaking during the official launch of PBS’ state-of-the-art learning facilities in Harare over the weekend, ACCA’s head of marketing and planning for Africa Mr Alex Mswaka said their strategic vision was to be the leading institution in developing the accountancy profession in the world.

He commended the school for helping ACCA in pursuing this goal as one of its seven platinum approved learning providers in Africa and the only one in Zimbabwe.

“Congratulations on opening this state-of-the-art facility in the central business district featuring ultra-modern amenities including 30 computers for session computer-based exams. This is a clear demonstration of your commitment to the partnership and shared technology vision with ACCA,” he said.

“ACCA is 100 percent committed to partnering with PBS and our valued learning providers. Our aim is to ensure your business models work with ours so that there is mutual support between us.”

He said among the achievements scored by PBS was being the only learning provider globally and across Africa to achieve a 100 percent pass rate in ACCA’s first Strategic Business Leader exams that was launched in 2018.

In addition he said PBS was the first of its approved learning providers to implement e-campus and to deliver blended learning in Africa.

“The PBS e-campus was launched in November, three weeks to the December 2018 exams and with publicity support from ACCA 1 465 students from over 31 countries registered on the platform,” he said.

“The PBS e campus marketing promotional campaign generated quite a healthy number of unique student registrations on the platform and 2 100 exam subjects were enrolled.

Feedback from students indicated that the platform was indeed useful in practicing and preparing for the exams.”

Speaking during the same occasion one of PBS directors Mr Ngoni Alex Robbins commended ACCA for its support and pledged that the school would continue to achive customer satisfaction through quality checks on different aspects of its tuition and introduce innovative packages such as its revolutionary two in one first ever A-Level plus ACCA Diploma programme that was introduced   in 2015.

The programmes allows Cambridge A-Level commercial students to also sit for an ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies simultaneously.

“Employers require work ready finance professionals and as PBS we want to play our part in producing graduates that have the requisite skills required by employers.

To help with this we run training programmes for grooming, excel training and other soft skills required in the business world,” he said.
