“We want to champion a massive and competitive arts in Zimbabwe. What we have discovered of late is that our own poets and artistes are not getting enough opportunities to expose their talents, so every other event or competition is meant to give them with opportunities,” said White.

He said the joint was recently ranked among the top five joints in the city through promoting local arts.
There is going to be open mic and party for the winners.

Poets and dancers who are going to take part are expected to get surprise prizes while artistes will be awarded with free venues for their shows as a token of appreciation.
Last weekend the Book Café was alive after hosting mbira maestros Mawungira Enharira.

The Sistaz Open Mic was on point when women came together to celebrate apartheid icon Nelson Mandela through poetry and comedy.
There was also a crazy reggae party that featured dancehall stars Iwata and Dadza D in conjunction with Star FM’s Ash Styles and Tin Tin from Zi-FM.
