GRADUATES of the Section Commander’s Tactics Course conducted by the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) must exercise discipline and continuously practise to remain relevant in the discharge of their duties.

Addressing 90 graduates drawn from the country’s 10 provinces, at 3.1 Combat Group graduation, ZNA Commandant (All Arms Battle School) Colonel Canaan Chimudzeka commended the graduates for withstanding harsh conditions during their training and urged them to be useful assets in serving the nation.

“Your commandant informed me that your stay here was full of logistical and financial challenges and that your stay was not an easy one and, as a result, your graduation today shows that you were able to resist a number of challenges encountered throughout the duration of your training. Allow me to commend you for your resilience under such conditions.

“Let me remind you that the knowledge and training which you have gained here will be further tested in your respective units. Therefore, you must continuously practise the concepts as one will find yourself deployed in the battlefront,” he said.

Col Chimudzeka said the objective of the course officer’s instructors was to produce competent and disciplined section commanders who were able to effectively command, control and administer men and women under their command.

The 90 section commanders that graduated at 3.1 Combat Group Section Commander’s Tactics Course included 11 females.

They were trained in courses that prepared, sharpened and exposed them to the fighting concepts and doctrines of ZNA that prepare the defence forces against any threat that may be posed both internally and externally.

“Training of this nature is very important, as it prepares and sharpens you in fighting wars when sovereignty is threatened as mandated by the Constitution of the land.

“Your course, which exposed you to the fighting concepts and doctrines of ZNA, was meant to prepare the defence forces to meet any threat that may be posed by aggressors either within or outside our borders,” said Col Chimudzeka.
