Zimpapers honours award-winning journos

National Tourism Awards held recently.
Group chief executive officer, Mr Justin Mutasa, said the 10 winners were proof the company dominates the industry.
“We are gathered here to thank our award winning journalists at the recent National Tourism Awards and the National Journalistic and Media Awards,” he said.

“We are very proud and it is a demonstration that we are not only the leaders in size, but we are the leaders in what our reporters write.”
Mr Mutasa singled out The Herald features editor Isdore Guvamombe who scooped the prestigious Tourism Personality of the Year Award at the National Tourism Awards held in Masvingo.

Guvamombe also scooped the Minister’s Special Recognition Award.
ZimTravel Associate Editor Costa Mano scooped The Tourism Writer of the Year at the same event.

In the Njama awards held early this month, The Herald deputy news editor Lovemore Chikova was the first-runner-up in the Agriculture Reporter of the Year category.
The paper’s Masvingo Bureau chief George Maponga was the first runner-up in the Environmental Reporter of the Year category.

The Sunday Mail’s Darlington Musarurwa scooped the Business Reporter of the Year award and was the runner-up in the Financial Reporter of the Year category.
The leading weekly paper’s features editor Levi Mukarati was the Legal and Parliamentary Reporter of the Year.

Kwayedza’s Muchaneta Chimuka scooped the Maternal Health Reporter of the Year Award while her counterpart Memory Mangombe was the first runner-up in the Photographer of the Year category.
Manica Post news editor Cletus Mushanawani was the Mining Reporter of the Year, with The Chronicle’s Temba Dube winning the Infrastructure and Construction Reporter of the Year award.
