THE Zimbabwe junior darts team returned home as the 2017 Zone VI champions after winning the four-day tournament which was recently held in South Africa. The team did well by putting up a good show which saw them dominating in most categories like singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Led by National Darts Association president Mynard Moyo, the team returned to the Zone VI darts championships with new players who managed to rise to the occasion at the big stage.

Zimbabwe had 438 points and pushed Botswana into second place on 276 points while South Africa, who usually dominate the tournament, came third.

South Africa amassed 236 points while Lesotho were fourth with 133 points and Swaziland came fifth with 125 points.

Dumisani Ndlovu and Ryan Ncube were outstanding in the Under-15 boys doubles final after overcoming fellow countrymen Riaan Hassam and Tinoziva Nhundu to scoop the gold medal.

Another local Under-15 star player Damalzar Mlilo also landed gold in the girls singles finals.

It was another all-Zimbabwe affair in the boys Under-15 where Ncube claimed gold after getting the better of Nhundu in the final.
