THE Deputy Sheriff swooped on ZIFA House yesterday and attached office property at the beleaguered organisation. Office equipment comprising tables, chairs and cupboards were ferried away by lorries from 53 Livingstone Avenue. Workers at ZIFA barred the media from entering the premises.

Communications officer Xolisani Gwesela, who is away at college in Gweru, said he was not aware of the visit by the Messenger of Court.

“I am not aware of that, I am not at the office, call Ralph Maganga (ZIFA lawyer), he’s the best person to comment because he has been handling the legal issues,” said Gwesela.

Maganga said he was in court during the time the property was attached and was on his way to ZIFA House to get further details

He promised to furnish The Herald with more details, after 30 minutes, but his mobile phone later went answered.

ZIFA have been battling to settle their debts.

A FIFA delegation told the association that the world football governing body would not bail out the association, with a financial package, but only help them find ways of emerging from their crisis.
