Zanu-PF will win all the 26 seats in Manicaland Province in next year’s harmonised elections, Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Mandi Chimene has said.

“There is no doubt we will maintain our grip on the current 23 that we have and reclaim the three that were lost to the opposition in the last election. Our people know that they cannot make the same mistake again and allow the seats to remain in the custody of pretenders.

“We just need to create the right temperature for the elections and the people will not disappoint us.” Cde Chimene blamed the loss of three seats in 2013 to divisions within Zanu-PF.

“Remember ZANU-PF is an institution, a big institution and not an individual.
“If we go to elections as individuals trying to push our egoistic interests and not the party’s then people will just not vote for us.

“Selfish leaders want to impose themselves on the people yet people need to choose their leader or leaders,” she said. Cde Chimene said she begins campaigns next month.

“I will be going around the entire province district-by-district and ward-by-ward talking to the people.

“I will remind them that ZANU-PF is the revolutionary party that brought independence and the best we can all do is shame those bent on reversing the gains of the liberation struggle.

“No opposition will unseat the people’s party, especially if they are externally-funded and sponsored just to distabilise the unity and oneness people are enjoying under the ruling party.”
