FORMER Premiership side Masvingo United have lost their sponsors.

Yuna Yuna have regrouped under the guidance of former player Joe Kwangwari.

Their coach from last year, Johannes “Dutch Mentor” Nhumwa, appears to have been frozen out of the system.

“At the moment I am not contracted and I am waiting to hear from the Masvingo United executive on the way forward as we last communicated some time ago.

“As a coach I always try to bring the best I can and that is what I did for Masvingo United but we were unfortunate not to win promotion on the last day.

“The team was good and competitive but as for the preparations for the upcoming season I am not sure about what is happening as I am not on the ground,” said Nhumwa.

Masvingo United secretary-general Moses Ncube said they were looking for sponsors.

“Masvingo United is a big brand and we are happy that we managed to put in an interim executive committee which will help lure stakeholders to come on board.

“After a successful campaign last year we were unfortunate that some of the sponsors felt otherwise and they decided to pull out but it was great working with them as a community team.

“The good thing about the club is that we can sustain ourselves in our home games but it is the away matches that give us challenges so the executive committee will look into that before the season begins.

“We last heard from the coach last year and we thought he was trying his luck somewhere as he had just gone quiet.

“Our position is clear, we don’t have money at the moment and when the sponsors pulled out the coach was not happy and he just went quiet so we moved on believing that he has found a new lease of life considering how his curriculum vitae has improved in the past few years,” Ncube said.
