SCOTT Vincent finished fourth at the Lion of Africa Cape Open at the Royal Cape Golf Club in Cape Town, South Africa, at the weekend. Vincent finished on nine-under-par after the four rounds and was the only Zimbabwean to make the cut in a field that had five other locals. The former Virginia Tech student pocketed R60 600 for his efforts after carding 68, 73, 70 and 68 for a total 279.

The event featured Ryan Cairns, Greg Bentley, Garry Thompson, Mahommed Mandhu and Mark Williams who failed to progress beyond the second round.

Vincent recently became the first Zimbabwean golfer to win on the Swing Thought Tour, a developmental circuit renowned for preparing upcoming professional golfers for life on the US PGA and Web.com Tours. The victory at the Callaway Gardens Mountain View Tournament was Vincent’s fifth win since turning professional in June.
