LONDON. — Former Manchester United skipper Roy Keane admits he is saddened by Manchester United’s current plight following their Europa League exit to Liverpool .

The Red Devils went into the second leg at Old Trafford trailing 2-0 on aggregate, but could only manage a 1-1 draw after Anthony Martial and Phillipe Coutinho traded first-half goals, as Jurgen Klopp’s side booked their quarter-final place.

“I’m really saddened by what I’ve seen happen to United over the last year or two,” Keane said following the game. It’s like a bunch of strangers have been thrown together.”

The former Republic of Ireland international believes that much of the current squad are unable to cope with the pressure of turning out for the club. — The Daily Mirror.
