LONDON. — Manchester United were on Saturday night geared up for a whirlwind 48 hours of transfer business involving up to ELEVEN players. On the way IN are Dutch pair Nigel de Jong and Daley Blind. United are waiting for AC Milan to give midfielder De Jong the green light to fly to Manchester to complete a £10 million deal. The Old Trafford club are also close to finalising the £16m signing of versatile defender Blind from Ajax.

United confirmed on Saturday that a deal had been agreed with Ajax for Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed.
And United have also been in talks with Juventus and Sporting Lisbon, respectively, about midfielders Arturo Vidal and William Carvalho — in case the De Jong deal stalls.
But even more players are on the way OUT of Old Trafford.

Midfielder Tom Cleverley (25) could be the first with Aston Villa leading the £7 million chase, with Everton and Valencia also interested.
If Cleverley leaves on a permanent basis — a loan is also a possibility — he will receive a £1m pay-off from United.

Fellow midfielder Shinji Kagawa could return to Borussia Dortmund for £8m and striker Danny Welbeck is in demand with a host of clubs. There could also be United exit business involving striker Javier Hernandez, midfielders Anderson and Marouane Fellaini and goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.
Fellaini, though, currently has an ankle problem.

Not all these deals will be completed before the transfer window closes at 11pm today.
But United’s in-and-out transfer negotiations illustrate the extent of the revolution launched by new boss Louis van Gaal. On the countdown to the closure of the transfer window, Van Gaal said pn Saturday: “Blind is coming for his medical, so maybe we will have a new player.— The Daily Star
