AFTER completing her maiden tour of Europe last month, Zimbabwe’s motocross “golden girl” Tanya Muzinda has shifted her focus to flying the country’s flag high in the annual Southern Africa Challenge scheduled for September 25 at Donnybrook in Harare. The 11-year-old female biker returned from Europe some two weeks ago where she charmed the international motocross world when she raced in Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Tanya has since declared through her father, Tawanda, her wish to make a huge impact in the SAC race meeting which is making a return to the local calendar in over a decade.

“Tanya is raring to go and I am very confident that the experience which she garnered during her European tour will help her perform well in the upcoming event.

“The fact that the Southern Africa Challenge race meeting is internationally recognised as most of the Southern African nations will be represented is motivation enough for Tanya. She is eager to fly high the Zimbabwean flag,” said Tawanda Muzinda.

He added that he is currently trying to raise about $2 000 which will see him getting a brand new KTM (85cc) from South Africa that Tanya will use during the Southern Africa Challenge race meeting.

“KTM (Austria), who are one of Tanya’s international sponsors, earlier this year sent through a brand new bike for Tanya but it landed in South Africa where some of their bikes are assembled and we now have to raise about $2 000 which will see us bringing it over here to Zimbabwe.”
