Gospel musician Innocent Shumbahuru believes his fourth album titled “Mufudzi Akanaka” will take his career to another level.

Shumbahuru, who has often been mistaken for Blessing Shumba because of the similarities in their music, said he was ministering the word of God.

“I am very happy that since last week people have been requesting songs from the new album,” he said.

For him the album was a great improvement because people were no longer comparing his music with any other musician.

“I had problems in the past because people were confusing me with Shumba but on this album people have a clear picture and know we are different,” said Shumbahuru.

He said they use the same producers for their albums.

Shumbahuru’s first album “Maropafadzo” was recorded in 2006.

“By then this type of gospel was not yet popular but I am glad God has managed to give us the light,” he said.

The musician recorded two other albums “Kudzaishe” and “Garai Munashe” before working on the latest release.

Songs on the new album are “Kutenda”, “Farai Zvenyu”, “Mufudzi Akanaka”, “Gadziriro”, “Mazita”, “Famba NaJesu”, and “Mwari Havatinyadzise”.

He said he decided to engage two producers Lyton Ngolomi and Charles Ayibeki to give his fans the best.

“These two are good producers and to give our fans the best I decided to engage both of them.

“It has also brought new a dimension to the music,” he said.

He has since started live performances and has been sharing the stage with Shumba and Mathias Mhere.

“I have a live band and we are performing at most shows in and outside the capital.

“I have been sharing the stage with the two musicians and it is a good experience,” he said.

Another gospel musician Bethen Pasinawako was the backing vocalist on the album.
