A Harare woman, Chantel Chidyagwayi has been identified for grooming to replace Sexy Angels’ leading dancer Beverly “Bev” Sibanda who quit showbiz on Sunday.This was revealed by her manager Harpers Mapimhidze. “We have a girl that we have identified to replace Bev as the leader of the Sexy Angels. We are still grooming her to lead the group and she will be unveiled soon,” he said.

Bev known for her jaw dropping antics on stage shocked all and sundry after announcing that she    has quit the showbiz industry after receiving a prophecy from her “spiritual father” Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries (PHD).

According to Bev, Prophet Magaya told her to stop dancing in pubs and promised to help her open a clothing shop in the capital.

Beverly received the prophecy on Sunday at PHD headquarters in Waterfalls where she was called to the front.

Mapimhidze revealed that the writing was on the wall that Bev was supposed to stop her raunchy dancing when there was a barrage of bad publicity towards her.

“Three quarters of the stories in the Press were negative. Each week was a different thing even towards the end of the year.

“One week it was Bev strips, Bev slaps fan and so on. I knew sooner rather than later she would be saved,” he said.

Mapimhidze said he was influential in Bev being “saved” as he was the one who introduced her to church.

“I am a devout Christian and I was actually the one who invited her to church to hear the Word of God. It did not come as a surprise that she is now saved. I am happy for her,” he said.

“Chances are very high that she will stop dancing and follow the calling of Prophet Magaya. Bev is weighing her options because the business deal is more lucrative and less taxing on her time, than dancing.”

As reality sinks in that the era of Beverly Sibanda is over one wonders, if the girl who is coming to replace her will rise to the occasion.

Chidyagwayi has big shoes to fill, as Bev took raunchy dancing to the pinnacle and made herself a household name.
