Triangle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0THOSE who questioned Black Rhinos’ pedigree when they knocked Dynamos out of the Chibuku Super Cup should look at this result and see that Chauya Chipembere have become a dangerous team.

A brace by Lot Chiwunga and goals from Milton Karewa and Lincoln Saramaya ensured a big win for the army outfit at Ascot yesterday.

Triangle, who are still to register a win at Ascot, were never in the match and the fact that they had only one shot at goal, the entire afternoon, summed up their lacklustre performance.

Rhinos were on the offensive from the word go and the pressure paid off in the ninth minute when they were awarded a penalty after Charles Rukwinhi handled in the box a goal attempt by Brian Muzondiwa.

Referee Norman Matemera pointed to the spot but skipper Wilson Chakanyuka’s penalty hit the woodwork on its way out.

Rhinos surged ahead in the 35th minute when Jimmy Tigere failed to clear his lines and the ball fell onto the path of Chiwunga who bullied his marker before placing the ball beyond the reach of Mudimu.

They doubled their advantage in the 50th minute through Milton Kurewa.

Kurewa gained possession in the box after receiving a pass from Wonder Kapinda and dribbled past a cluster of defenders before firing past a stranded Mudimu.

Ten minutes later Chiwunga completed his brace when he was released by Stephen Matsingaise and unleashed a scorcher from inside the box.
Kapinda turned provider for the fourth goal when he laid the ball to Saramaya who charged towards goal and shot from a tight angle to put the match beyond the reach of Triangle.

Jostein Mathuthu, the Rhinos coach, said they had played without any pressure.

“We played exciting football and our players were comfortable on the ball and the body language showed that there were not under any pressure which was what I had advised them. We look forward to the next round,” he said.

Triangle assistant coach, Gift Muzadzi conceded defeat, and said their players were never in the game.

“We lost it from the first whistle as you could see from the body language that our players were never in the game.  Maybe this is due to the travelling that we have had in the past weeks but we need to go back to the drawing board and pick ourselves up and move on.”
