LONDOn. — Robert Pires has speculated about who could one day replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal after saying that only club legend Thierry Henry or Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti could take on the Frenchman’s job.

Pires — who spent six years playing for the Gunners and featured in the unbeaten Arsenal side of 2003-04 — was asked about Wenger’s future in north London, with the manager still having two years left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium.

When probed about the possibility of the Frenchman departing the club before his Arsenal deal ends in 2017, Pires told Goal: “Not this time. Beside that, Wenger still has a contract with Arsenal.

“Who is the perfect replacement? Thierry Henry?

“He understands football and Arsenal. I don’t know, but I like Carlo Ancelotti.

“But that’s my opinion, it doesn’t mean that Arsenal need Ancelotti at this time.” — Metro.
