LONDON. — Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he has reached a decision over his future and will announce it “very soon”.

After his side slumped to a fourth English Premier League defeat in five games at West Brom on Saturday afternoon, leaving them six points adrift of the top four with 11 games to go, Wenger said his side are in “unique” peril.

Wenger gave no indication whether he is staying or going, but the Frenchman is under growing pressure with Arsenal’s season in danger of collapsing after a sixth defeat in nine games.

But Wenger is set to infuriate thousands of Arsenal fans by signing a new one-year contract.

Wenger (67) was offered a two-year deal earlier in the season – but The Sunday Express understands he has reached a compromise to stay on for one more year. — Sky Sports.
