ZPC KARIBA midfielder Raphael Manuvire is a lucky man after an initial scan yesterday showed he has not broken any bones.
The lively ZPC Kariba midfielder was on the receiving end of a nasty lunge from Chapungu United’s Blessed Mbuvarira at Gwanzura on Saturday.
Manuvire was rushed to hospital during the game.
ZPC Kariba spokesman Fadzai Chisveto revealed that a scan showed that the midfielder did not suffer serious injury.

“The medical team said there are no broken bones, according to the initial results of the tests done.
“Our worst fears had been that he could have suffered broken bones,” said Chisveto.

Chisveto said further tests will be carried in the next weeks but the player could miss the remainder of the first half of this season.
ZPC Kariba have a date against Shabanie Mine at Maglas this weekend. “Further tests to determine if he has not torn any ligaments will be done in the next two weeks as he also goes through physiotherapy sessions.

“He will definitely not play for a couple of weeks but the situation is not worse than we expected. However, the player is still in great pain at the moment,” said Chisveto.

ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka condemned the crude tackle.
Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino said the incident was very unfortunate.
