It was a night of worship and praise as several gospel musicians united for a concert dubbed “Taking Gospel to another level” at Kingstones House on Saturday night. Musicians Sebastain Magacha, Daniel and Mathias Mhere, Takesure Zamar and Thembalami, were among the performers. Though the crowd was not convincing, but the musicians who performed at the event managed their stage performances well.

The attendance of the show could have been affected by the wet weather over the weekend that and affected several live shows. Daniel Mhere was the first to take the stage and the musician failed to rise to expectations.

It seems fans were not familiar with his songs as they remained seated while he was performing. Thembalami came next on stage and the musician managed to give fans their best as they were driven into worshiping and praising mood.

Magacha went on to perform and the young musician attracted fans to draw closer to the stage performing most of his popular hits. Clad in a black jacket the musician called on different people to showcase their dancing talents.

Magacha became the best performer of the night as he displayed different dancing routines. He sampled two songs from his upcoming album “Ndiregererewo” and “I Love You Mother” much to the delight of fans.

His instrumentalists had time to play some popular songs from different musicians such as Alick Macheso.

Worshiping mood did not end there as the popular singer Zamar took fans to another level with his songs.

His songs “Agere Pachigaro” and “Kuregerera in Advance” that made waves on different international music channels thrilled fans.

Mhere was the last to perform at the event and the musician gave his best.

He played songs from his new album “Double Double” that has failed to make an impact in the market.

Zimpraise chairman Jospeh Madziyire, Learnmore Tavengwa Spirit Praise chairman were in attendance.

Fans who spoke to this publication said it was important for organisers to consider time for gospel concerts.

“Usually such kind of gospel shows are attended by families and for them to start it at 6pm was too late. They must adjust their time,” said Magret Mudaka.

Others hailed the musicians for the great improvement saying it was a positive development towards the growth of gospel music in the country.

“It is good for gospel musicians to unite like this and we are encouraged as fans they should keep it like that,” said one Chiedza Matendo.
