LONDON. — Arsenal are ready to sell Mesut Ozil in January with Inter showing serious interest in the attacker.

The Gunners are also preparing to sell Theo Walcott in January – as Arsene Wenger looks to offload some of his flops. The England winger has become a bit-part player for the Gunners in recent years, and is not part of any first-team plans.

Wenger is willing to sell the 28-year-old during the next transfer window, as he looks to raise funds for a replacement. Walcott has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Everton.

He has 18-months left on his £110 000-a-week contract, and is one of the club’s highest earners, according to TeamTalk.

But the Gunners do not want another situation like Alexis Sanchez and Ozil, who are refusing to sign new deals. The pair can leave on frees next summer, with Manchester United, City and PSG looking at snapping up the Chilean.

Ozil decided against leaving Arsenal in the summer, but has yet to sign a new deal with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

The German is demanding a mammoth fee of £350 000 a week to stay at the English Premiership soccer club and Arsenal have so far refused to meet that figure.

And now the recent developments at the Emirates has prompted the club to seriously considering cashing in on Ozil in a January transfer.

Wenger has been without the attacker for part of the season as Ozil nurses a knee injury. Ozil’s absence has done little to disrupt Arsenal’s form, indeed the Gunners have hit their stride in recent weeks. A 0-0 draw with Chelsea is the only game Ozil has missed this season that Arsenal have failed to win.

Wenger is now convinced his side can cope with the loss of Ozil and has sanctioned the January sale. Arsenal would be keen to cash in on Ozil rather than lose him on a free in the summer. — The Mirror.
