Livingstone at the weekend.
Makumbe will trade leather with Rhoida Mwashukanu over four rounds while Pitiseni is scheduled to fight Cathrine Phiri.

The fights on Saturday are part of the draw that has six other matches.
For Makumbe, the fight is a rematch after she lost to the same opponent by split point decision early this year.
Speaking before her departure for Livingstone, Makumbe promised to do better this time.

“I lost by a points decision in the first meeting but it was a close call by the judges.
“But the promoter was not happy and has decided to set a rematch which I now hope to win through a knock-out to avoid any slip ups,” said Makumbe.
Makumbe will have trainer Clyde Musonda in her corner for the featherweight battle.

“I am upbeat about my chances of winning because I never stopped training since my last fight in Malawi which ended in a draw.
Pitiseni is making her debut fight against an international opponent and hopes her exposure in kickboxing will come in handy.
“This is my first international fight in boxing and I am hoping to put up a good fight.

“I have participated in kick-boxing events in South Africa and should not be frightened at all,” said Pitiseni.
Pitiseni trains under Thomas Kambuyi at the Juluka Boxing Club in Epworth.
“This is her first international fight and I hope she will do well.

“She is hungry for success and this is her breakthrough to the international scene.
“There are very few women boxers in Zimbabwe and she is happy to get such an opportunity.
“Its interesting to note that she is ranked 49th by the WBO on the strength of her local fights so we are hoping for the best in the international bout,” said Khambuyi.

While the two women and their coaches were heading for Zambia, their male counterparts were preparing to leave for Malawi.
Gweru-based Chamu Gonorenda and Richard Muriri are going for matches in Malawi next week.
Gonorenda, the former Zimbabwe cruiserweight champion will face Pasco Ndoma of Tanzania.

“I have dropped to super-middleweight and I believe this is an advantage because I feel stronger and heavier
“Its unlike when I had to gain weight to fight,” said Gonorenda.
Gonorenda also stoked the flames in the local boxing family when he charged that Zimbabwe heavyweight champion Thamasqa Dube was “not a serious boxer”.

“I have put up a challenge to Dube and I do not know if he will take it up.
“He was easily knocked out by Flo Simba on Monday night and I feel I could have done better than Dube.
“I have fought Simba before when he prepared to take on Francois Botha but I lost on points, unlike Dube who was humiliated,” said Gonorenda.
